The Farm at San Benito
On 52 hectares of tropical jungle in Lipa, Batangas — ninety minutes south of Manila, at the foot of the Malarayat mountains — The Farm at San Benito has been practising what it calls the Five Pillars since 2002: diagnose, cleanse, nourish, repair, and sustain. It is the only medical wellness retreat in the Philippines and one of the most awarded in the world.
The Farm began on a coconut plantation in 2002 with a simple and serious premise: that the body, given the right conditions, can heal itself. Twenty years later it has accumulated over one hundred international awards, including Best Medical Wellness Resort in the World. The 52-hectare property is anchored by a 300-year-old mango tree, a Labyrinth, a Temple of the Five Elements, and a 5,700-square-metre organic farm that supplies the five restaurants. Every stay begins with an integrative doctor consultation that shapes the programme: whether the focus is detox, gut health, immunity, chronic disease management, diabetes, post-COVID recovery, or simply deep rest. The plant-based cuisine — led by the award-winning ALIVE! restaurant — is itself a treatment, prescribed in consultation with the medical team and prepared from ingredients grown on the property. Filipino healing is woven throughout: the ancient Hilot massage using coconut cream, warm oil, and traditional technique; Mandala flower meditation; daily yoga at the lagoon. The villas, built in traditional Filipino rice-barn style, disappear into the jungle.
