Euphoria Retreat
Within the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mystras, at the foot of Mount Taygetus in the Greek Peloponnese, Euphoria was built to answer a simple question: what would a European wellness retreat look like if it took ancient Greek and Chinese medicine as seriously as it took the architecture. Founded by Marina Efraimoglou and designed around the Byzantine heritage of its setting, Euphoria Retreat operates on the Euphoria Methodology — a framework built on the Five Elements and a blend of Hellenic healing traditions, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and contemporary therapeutic science. The four-floor spa is genuinely extraordinary: a Byzantine hammam, the signature Sphere Pool, a Watsu pool, aerial yoga pavilion, Finnish sauna, sensory deprivation pool, and over seventy treatment rooms within 40,000 square metres of landscaped grounds and private pine forest. Programmes run from three to twelve nights, anchored by a 3GL metabolic assessment that measures glycogen, glucose, and glutathione to inform personalised nutrition. A collaboration with Dr. George Leon, an international metabolic medicine expert, brings clinical rigour to the longevity and detox programmes.
